The first full week of school began the day before we left Haiti. We brought over 6 suitcases full of black shoes (required as part of the school uniform) and backpacks that the kids needed in order to start school. The kids were thrilled with their new diggs, boys not seeming to care if they picked up a girly Dora backpack, but the girls trying on different pairs of shoes until they found the ones they liked best - some things are universal! Thank you to all who gave shoes, backpacks and school supplies including the New Hope church community and Beltsville SDA School in addition to the many individual donors. Thanks to you, our kids are ready for school!
